Bereavement and Loss Counselling

Loss is an inevitable part of the human experience and can manifest in various ways throughout our lives. Perhaps you've faced the sorrow of losing a loved one and are currently navigating the painful journey of bereavement. You might find yourself grappling with the emotional aftermath of a recent breakup with a partner, the unexpected loss of employment or miscarriage.

In times of such emotional pain, psychotherapy and counselling provide support by offering a space to explore and process the complex emotions associated with grief and loss and find coping strategies, integrating your experiences of loss into your life, allowing for growth around the grief.

While each of us experiences bereavement and loss differently, there are some common emotional responses to them:

  • Grief

  • Shock and denial

  • Anger

  • Guilt

  • Physical symptoms (e.g. loss of sleep, appetite changes, fatigue)

  • Emotional rollercoaster

  • Withdrawal and isolation

  • Searching and longing
