Affordable, Low-Cost Online Therapy
Support shouldn't be out of reach for the people who need it.
Psychotherapy and counselling can be genuinely transformative. Having a regular space where your experiences, thoughts and feelings can be brought, explored, and worked through with someone trained to really listen, someone who can help you make sense of yourself, understand who you really are, and grow into your potential, can change how you relate to your own life and others.
Counselling and psychotherapy need to be accessible to the people who need them. Low-cost and affordable therapy does not mean low value. It reflects something we all need: to be heard, and held, in a safe, non-judgemental space.
I offer a small number of sliding-scale and concessionary sessions alongside my standard rate.

How it works
-
Sliding scale / concession sessions: £35–£50 per session, for clients experiencing financial hardship, currently studying, or between jobs
-
Number of concession spots available: 3 — updated regularly, as availability changes with my current caseload
If cost is a barrier to you starting therapy, mention it when you book your free consultation, or email me directly at tony@talkingtherapy.london. There's no lengthy means-testing or paperwork — just an honest conversation about what's manageable for you.
Who this is for
This is for anyone who wants to work with an experienced, BACP-registered psychodynamic therapist, but for whom the standard rate isn't currently possible — including:
-
Students and trainees
-
Those between jobs or on a reduced income
-
Anyone for whom cost has been the reason they've put off starting therapy before
Whatever brings you to therapy — anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, relationship difficulties, work stress, grief, or simply the sense that something needs to shift — the quality of the space you get is exactly the same, regardless of fee.
Frequently asked questions
Is low-cost therapy lower quality?
No. Every client — whatever they pay — works with me directly, not a trainee or someone in supervision. Sliding-scale sessions receive the same depth of attention, the same confidentiality, and the same commitment as standard-rate sessions. The only thing that changes is the fee.
How is this different from NHS therapy?
NHS talking therapies are free but usually short-term (often around 6 to 12 sessions) and can involve a long wait. My low-cost sessions are ongoing, open-ended, and typically available to start within 1 week of your initial consultation — with no waiting list.
How do I know if I qualify for a concession rate?
There's no formal application. If the standard fee isn't currently affordable for you, say so when we speak at your free consultation, and we'll agree a rate that works for both of us, subject to availability.
What is psychodynamic therapy, and why does it matter for cost?
Psychodynamic therapy looks beneath the surface of what's troubling you — patterns, relationships, and experiences (including early ones) that continue to shape how you feel and act now. It tends to be longer-term than approaches like CBT, which is exactly why affordability matters: lasting change needs a space you can actually sustain.
Do I need to be in the UK?
No; sessions are online, for adults across the UK and the rest of Europe.
