The questions people most often want to ask before we've even spoken.
Before any full session, we have a 15-min phone call. If you feel that I am the right therapist for you, we meet online for a 50-minute assessment. There is nothing to prepare and no assessment to pass. We are both getting a feel for how it is to work and think together.
Psychodynamic therapy is usually open-ended and weekly. Some people find real movement within a few months. Other may stay longer because the depth of the work rewards the time given to it. We review together as we go.
I currently work online and by phone. This means we can meet reliably from anywhere in the UK. Sessions run at a regular weekly time.
Sessions are £70 for 50 minutes. The first 15-minute phone call is free. A small number of concessionary places are held for students, trainee counsellors and individuals with low income. Feel free to reach out to learn more.
Yes. I keep a small number of reduced-fee places open for students, trainee counsellors and individuals with low income. Please mention it when you get in touch and we will talk about what is possible.
Fit matters more than credentials. If it becomes clear I'm not the right therapist for you, I'll be transparent and, where I can, point you toward someone who might be more suitable for you.
Yes, within the boundaries of the BACP Ethical Framework and the law. Confidentiality, its limits, and how I hold your data are all things we talk through openly at the start.
Psychotherapy isn't a crisis service. If you're in immediate distress, please see the crisis page for direct routes to urgent support in the UK.
